Iran thanks Pakistan for ceasefire efforts, confirms participation in Islamabad talks

PM Shehbaz, Iranian President hold phone talks, agree on Islamabad negotiations

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif held a telephone conversation with Iranian President Dr Masoud Pezeshkian on Wednesday, discussing recent developments and efforts to ease tensions.

During the call, which lasted over 45 minutes, the prime minister appreciated the Iranian leadership for agreeing to a ceasefire and accepting Pakistan’s offer to host negotiations between Iran and the United States in Islamabad later this week.

He also conveyed his respects to Iran’s Supreme Leader.

President Pezeshkian thanked Prime Minister Sharif and acknowledged Pakistan’s role in facilitating the temporary ceasefire, while extending good wishes to the people of Pakistan.

He confirmed Iran’s participation in the upcoming talks in Islamabad.

Both leaders agreed to remain in close contact as diplomatic efforts continue.
