Two CCD cops arrested on charges of abducting trader for ransom

The accused have been identified as inspector Javed Iqbal and constable Tusif. They took Rs4million to release the citizen

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Police on Wednesday arrested a Crime Control Department (CCD) inspector and a constable for allegedly abducting a trader for ransom.

The accused have been identified as inspector Javed Iqbal and constable Tusif. They kidnapped trader Walid from Khana and demanded Rs50 million from the abductee’s family for his release, and threatened to kill him if they failed to give them ransom money.

A deal of Rs4million was done between the policemen and the family members of the abducted trader. The abductors and the relatives of the trader reached LOS where the accused released the trader after taking the agreed amount of Rs4million.

Khana police were informed about the incident, who promptly took action and tracked down the culprits. During the investigation, it was revealed that the accused were CCD personnel. The alleged abductors used a rented car to kidnap the trader. Further investigation was underway.
