LAHORE (Dunya News) - Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan has filed an application in the Lahore High Court (LHC) against his possible detention under military courts in the May 9 cases.
The PTI founder has filed the application in the LHC through his counsel Aziz Karamat, making the federal government and inspector generals of police of all four provinces respondents.
Khan contended in the application that there was a possibility of handing over his cases to military courts in the May 9 cases.
The PTI founder requested the court to prevent any such happening and order the authorities to keep his detention in civilian courts in the May 9 cases. He sought stay orders against possible detention under military courts.
The government has decided to ban the PTI and invoke Article 6 against Imran Khan, along with Arif Alvi and Qasim Suri. PTI founder Imran Khan is alleged to have confessed to giving strike call to the public.
However, Imran Khan also insists that it was a false flag operation against him and his party.
He has been acquitted in cipher, Toshakhana, and illegal marriage cases. But he has been detained in another Toshakhana and May 9 cases.
