Boxing icon Amir Khan awarded honorary rank of Pakistan Army Captain

Expresses confidence in capabilities of Pakistani youth

RAWALPINDI (Web Desk) - The Pakistan Army honoured the legendary boxer Amir Khan with the title of being a Pakistan Army Captain for a day.

The Pakistan Army honoured the seasoned fighter in a special event, recognizing his outstanding contributions to the boxing sport and his accomplishments in the arena.

Khan promised to open more boxing academies in Pakistan and emphasized the huge talented lot that could get benefits from the world class facilities.

He expressed hope for future triumphs in international contests like the Olympics and Commonwealth Games and urged young people to get involved in sports.

Earlier, Amir Khan and Martial Arts champion Shahzaib Rind met Chief of Army Staff Gen Syed Asim Munir at the General Headquarters, Rawalpindi on Saturday. 

According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the COAS appreciated both sportsmen for their phenomenal achievements and expressed full confidence in Pakistan's youth for their outstanding potential.
