ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said on Thursday that it was imperative for everyone to sit together to deal with economic challenges facing the country.
Addressing the participants of the Apex Committee of the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) meeting here, he said that the SIFC is an important platform which must continue.
He lauded the apex committee for working "well" even under the caretaker regime. He stressed on the significance of this platform for economic development and foreign investment.
The premier highlighted the military leadership’s extraordinary work in the success of this platform and promotion of foreign investment.
Earlier, the participants were given a detailed briefing on the SIFC and issues related to investment in the country.
Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Asim Munir, former caretaker prime minister Anwarul Haq Kakar and caretaker cabinet, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, Balochistan’s Sarfraz Bugti, Murad Ali Shah from Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Ali Amin Gandapur have attended the meeting.
