Sanda residents came on roads protesting against load shedding, blocking traffic completely

LAHORE: (Dunya News) – Traffic control saw a total breakdown on Saturday in Lahore’s Sanda area after the residents came on roads protesting against long absence of electricity in the area, reported Dunya News.

As soon as the weather has changed in Lahore, LESCO has come back to its old ways, increasing the load shedding hours dramatically. Water supply has also been affected by the load shedding. Unnerved by the situation, people took to roads and raised slogans against LESCO.

The protestors said that while there was shortage of electricity and water, the tariffs are getting higher and higher. Where the poor should go, they asked.

Meanwhile, police arrived at the scene as they learned of the protest. They convinced the protestors that their issue will be addressed soon after which the protestors dispersed.
