Two killed as PTI, PML-N workers clash in Lahore
PTI and PML-N workers clashed in Yaki Gate area of Lahore on Sunday night.
LAHORE (Dunya News) – Local Bodies election campaign turned bloody when two activists of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) was killed amid clashes with workers of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) in Yaki Gate area of Lahore on Sunday night, Dunya News reported.
According to details, four PTI activists and one PML-N worker were injured in firing in Yaki Gate area. The injured were rushed to hospital where 28-year-old Khurrum Gujar and Arif, both PTI activists, succumbed to their injuries. Khurrum Gujar and Arif are stated to be real brothers.
PTI leaders Chaudhry Sarwar, Shafqat Mahmood and Aleem Khan reached the spot after the incident. Speaking to newsmen, PTI leader Shafqat Mahmood said that this is a test case for Punjab police. PTI workers have blamed PML-N activists for the attack.
On the other hand, DG Operations, Haider Ashraf along with a heavy contingent of police also reached the spot. He said that special teams have been constituted to arrest the culprits behind this incident.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Punjab, Mian Shahbaz Sharif, while taking notice of the incident has sought an immediate report.
