PTI conditionally accepted government's offer to form judicial commission to probe election rigging.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The third phase of negotiations between Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and the government concluded on Saturday with PTI conditionally accepting the government’s offer to form judicial commission to probe election rigging allegations. PTI demanded the commission to complete investigation in thirty days and to appoint someone else as prime minister during the investigation period, Dunya News reported.

Briefing the media over the dialogue, Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that the deadlock is intact but the process is advancing seriously.
Qureshi said that PTI is ready to accept the government’s offer of forming judicial commission to probe election rigging, adding that if all stakeholders sit together in good faith for electoral reforms, the problems can be solved in forty five days.
Qureshi said that PTI has put forth the demand to remove the Prime Minister for thirty days and to immediately change Election Commission.
He said PTI’s demand will strengthen democracy and will not derail it.
Qureshi said that PTI did not talk about the national government, adding that if the judicial commission terms the election fair and transparent then the Nawaz Sharif can be reinstated as the Prime Minister otherwise his government has to go.
He further said that the ball is now in government’s court and that PTI has now presented a reasonable package to the government.
PTI vice chairman said that the FIR of Model Town tragedy must be registered as per the order of the session court judge.
