Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif meets with political party leaders in Islamabad.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – As the Azadi March draws closer, the government speeds up contacting the party leaders. Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif meets with political party leaders on Wednesday in Islamabad, Dunya News reported.

The announcement of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) s August 14 Azadi March and rallies in Islamabad has lead to a heated-political environment in the country. The government is gearing up to handle this challenge and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is contacting leaders of different political parties.

In a meeting held in Islamabad today, PM Nawaz Sharif met with Pakistan Muslim League-Z’s Ijazul Haq, Jamiat Ahle Hadith’s Professor Sajid Mir and FATA leader G.G. Jamal. The prevailing political situation in the country was brought under discussion in the meeting. Also present in the meeting were Pakistan Muslim League- N’s leaders Ishaq Dar, Pervez Rasheed and Ahsan Iqbal.

Earlier, Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan contacted PTI chief Imran Khan on telephone and urged him to call off his 14 August ‘Azadi march’.

However, Imran refused Ch Nisar proposal and said that 14 August ‘Azadi march’ would not be called off at any cost.
On the other hand, meeting of senior PML-N leaders was held today in Islamabad which was presided over by the Prime Minister. The meeting was attended by senior party leaders including Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, Railways Minister Khawaja Saad Rafique, Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, Hamza Shahbaz Sharif and others.

Country’s political situation, PTI long march and Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT)’s ‘revolution march’ were discussed in the meeting. The participants also discussed how the situation needs to be handled.

Nawaz Sharif forbade the Muslim League members of the KPK assembly to bring a no-confidence movement against the KPK government. “We believe in democracy”, said the Prime Minister.


PM Nawaz Sharif said that PTI must get chance to complete its tenure and perform as KPK government. He said that PTI has got the mandate in KPK which must be respected.
