Jumatul Wida being observed with religious fervor

Jumat-ul-Wida is one of the most sacred days in the month of Ramzan which falls just once a year.

LAHORE (Web Desk) – Jumatul Wida, the last Friday of the holy month of Ramzan, is being observed across the country with religious zeal and reverence, Dunya News reported.

Muslim community worships this day with great honour. It is an ultimate expression of admiration and dignity. At Friday prayer gatherings, Muslims across the country will pray for stability, progress and prosperity of the country and Muslim Ummah.

Special arrangements have been made for Jumatul Wida gatherings while law enforcement agencies have planned foolproof security to avert any untoward incident.

Additional security contingents have been deployed outside the mosques those have been declared as sensitive.

Three thousand and five hundred policemen and five hundred traffic police officers have been deployed in Islamabad while Rangers personnel are also on standby to assist police.

In Karachi, MA Jinnah Road will remain closed for traffic from 11:00am till Iftar time.

Jumatul Wida has special significance since it is a prelude to the departure of holy month of Ramzan and is considered the harbinger of end of showering of divine blessings that characterize the holy month.

On the other hand, religious parties are observing the day as Youm al-Quds in the country to express support and solidarity with oppressed Muslims of Palestine. Youm-ul-Quds is observed annually on the last Friday of Ramzan to oppose Israel’s control of Jerusalem.
