Central Moon Sighting Committee has announced Eid on 29th of July

KARACHI: (Dunya News) – Central Moon Sighting Committee has announced the sighting of Shawwal moon. Pakistan will celebrate Eid on Tuesday, July 29.

Central Moon Sighting Committee meeting was presided over by the chairman of the committee Mufti Muneeb ur Rehman in Karachi. The meeting was attended by the members of the committee and officials of Met Office. Central Moon-Sighting Committee received testimonies from Sukkur, Jewani and Jacobabad. After receiving three testimonies, Chairman Moon-Sighting Committee Mufti Muneeb ur Rehman announced that Eid-ul-Fitr will be held tomorrow in Pakistan.

Pakistanis will celebrate Eid tomorrow across the country with religious fervour. Eid Prayers will be offered in various cities of the country including Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad. Muslims will pray for the progress, safety and success of Pakistan Army in its war against the terrorists. Pakistanis will also pray for the innocent Palestinians who are being slaughtered by the Israeli Army.

On the other hand, Eid was celebrated today (Monday) in Peshawar, Charsadda, Bannu, Hangu, Laki Marwat and various other places as Mufti Shahabuddin Popalzai of Masjid Qasim Khan announced sighting the Shawwal Moon yesterday. The biggest Eid gatherings in Peshawar were observed at Mahabat Khan Mosque and Qasim Khan Mosque. Citizens greeted each other after offering the Eid prayer.

 

Maulana Yousuf Qureshi of the famous Masjid Mahabat Khan especially prayed for the safety of the country and for Palestinian martyrs. Large Eid gatherings were also observed at Bannu, Mardan, Charsadda, Sawabi, North and South Waziristan, Mohmand Agency, Shab Qadr and Bajaur agency. Special security arrangements were made outside all the mosques.
