Twitter giggles as Indian PM wishes Ghani 3 months ahead of birthday
Modi wished birthday to Ashraf Ghani but Ghani's birthday to be on May 19
(Web Desk) - Indian Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi on Saturday wished birthday to Afghanistan President Ashraf Ghani on Twitter. Although Ghani thanked the Indian PM for his wishes and prayers but also informed him that his birthday is actually on May 19.
It was later revealed that Modi checked Ghani s birthday on Google and wished him the birthday. Google made the amends laters but that was tad too late.
The Indian PM was successful in dispelling the negativity around India-Pakistan relations through what Indian media termed as birthday diplomacy when he gave a surprise visit to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif s residence in Jati Umra near Lahore on December 25, 2015. However, the same tactic failed this time when he wished brithday to the Afghan president but just a bit too early.
Afghan president thanked him for his gracious gesture but also informed the Indian PM that he was about 3 months and 6 days ahead of GMT.
Twitterati giggled over the blunder and some of them even gave Modi some tips about sources of information he needed to consult before making such gestures.
@ashrafghani @narendramodi This is what happens when the internet becomes the source of information. Happy b day in advance though :)

Some thought it could be a deliberate set up by Google. Going too far, eh?

Some Aram Sarwar thought that the Indian PM wasn t a sensible man. However, he himself missed the mark by around 6 days. True, he was closer to the real date than Modi was but all these dates are just adding to the confusion.
Narendra Modi again proves he is not senseble by wishing birthday to Ashraf Ghandi on 13 Feb whereas Ghani s birthday on 13 May.

Ok, this is satire. And thank God it is. He could ve flown to Kabul like he had done on PM Sharif s birthday but somehow resisted the temptation. Or was it Google that told Modi at the right time that Ghani was in Munich?
