Nonstop mobile gaming causes vision loss in Chinese woman
The woman became blind after diagnosed with retinal artery occlusion in her right eye
(Web Desk) – A Chinese woman was reported to become blind after constant gaming on smartphone for about full 24 hours, according to Channel NewsAsia.
Wu Xiaojing (name changed) had a marathon run at popular mobile game Honour of Kings which she was very fond of. She kept on playing the game on multi-player online mode for the entire day. She had started the battle game on October 1 and the Chinese media later on confirmed that the woman lost vision.
The woman became blind after diagnosed with retinal artery occlusion in her right eye. According to the medical team, the problem is common in old people and is caused by constant strain on the eyes, but not in someone of her age.
Talking to media, the blinded woman admitted that she became addicted to the game in the starting of 2017, saying she didn’t even go to eat or bathroom being totally absorbed in the interactive play.
Her routine was very much affected by Honour of Kings and she couldn’t control her obsession till the terrible incident occurred. She hopes to recover soon.
