PTI women's wing leader Saloni Bokhari passes away, loses battle with cancer

Imran Khan expressed sorrow at loss of her party's founding member and Women's Wing Punjab President

(Web Desk) – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) women wing leader Syeda Saloni Bokhari passed away today after losing the battle with cancer. She was not only the founding member of PTI but also the President of Women’s Wing Punjab.

She was appointed as the Punjab Women’s Wing President on August 28, 2011 in a simple ceremony attended by the PTI office bearers and members.



On her demise, Imran Khan took to Twitter and expressed sorrow. He tweeted, “Devastated by the loss of Saloni Bokhari who lost her battle to cancer this morning. She stood by me through thick and thin. She was there when the party passed through it’s greatest crisis.”

He credited Bokhari for standing by the party through thick and thin. Imran Khan said that she provided support despite several crises.



Jahangir Khan Tareen also shared a message for Bokhari on Twitter. “Extremely saddened by the demise of PTI stalwart Saloni Bukhari, who had been fighting cancer for long! Her selfless services for PTI & the way she stood with IK during difficult times, can never be forgotten. May Allah reward her with the highest rank in Jannat,” he said.

Other members of PTI including Sarah Ahmad,‏ Maleeka Bokhari‏, Mohammad Sarwar, Munaza Hassan, Saifullah K Nyazee, Momina Basit and others showed grief on the sad demise.
