Davis qualifies for diplomatic immunity: US

The US State Department has said that US citizen Raymond Davis deserves the diplomatic immunity and it will be proved in the court on Thursday.

US Senate standing committee chairman John Kerry has also left for Pakistan to do lobby for Davis.The State Department spokesman told the media in Washington that the US embassy would file a writ in the court to get the diplomatic immunity for Davis. The documented evidence about the diplomatic status of Davis will also be presented to the court, he added. The spokesman said that the US complies with its international obligations and expects other countries to do the same. According to an American news agency, Davis used to work in US Special Forces and he took retirement in 2003.
