MPA Zia-ur-Rehman of PML-N disqualified over fake degree
It was challenged by his rival candidate from PPP in Mansehra
MANSEHRA (Dunya News) – An MPA belonging from Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, Zia-ur-Rehman was disqualified on Tuesday after his rival candidate from PPP in Mansehra challenged his educational degree, reported Dunya News.
Mansehra in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has large support for PML-N. The disqualification under such circumstances can benefit both the rivals PPP and PTI.
Zia-ur-Rehman contested from PK-54 in KP Assembly. He was declared disqualified in fake degree case by the High Court. PPP leader from the same region had filed against his candidacy earlier.
The PML-N said in his defence that he would challenge the High Court’s orders in Supreme Court and reclaim his seat in the provincial assembly.
