If Article 62, 63 ineffective, why it's in constitution: Siraj ul Haq
JI chief questioned the statements by ruling ministers and Sharif family's lawyer
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The Jamaat-e-Islami chief and Senator Siraj ul Haq has responded to the answers given by Sharif family s lawyer at Panama Leaks case hearing in Supreme Court, reported Dunya News.
He asked, “If the Articles 62 and 63 are not effective then why are they included in the constitution of Pakistan?”
Earlier, the lawyer of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had stated in Supreme Court that the Article 62 and 63 are not effective. He said this while answering the claims that PM breached the privilege of parliament by giving contradictory statements as compared to stance in court.
Siraj ul Haq claimed that the ruling ministers who belong to PML-N are favoring the Sharif family. He made it clear that immunity is reserved for members of parliaments, not to the liars.
JI chief suggested that it will be hard for the government s lawyer to save the sinking boat.
