PPP brings Panama Leaks war back to parliament, Khurshid Shah submits privilege motion against PM
ISLAMABAD: (Dunya News) – Opposition Leader in National Assembly (NA) Khurshid Shah has on Tuesday submitted privilege motion against Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif in National Assembly as Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) brings the Panama Leaks issue back to the parliament, reported Dunya News.
Khurshid Shah brought the motion against PM for declaring his statement in the parliament as ‘non-serious’. The motion was signed by PPP leaders including Syed Naveed Qamar, Ejaz Jakhrani, Shazia Marri and Nafisa Shah.
The motion said that PM had declared before Supreme Court that his statement in the parliament regarding Panama Leaks and the ownership of his London flats was ‘non-serious’, bringing dishonour to the parliament.
He further said that a statement by the prime minister is an important part of the house proceedings but PM declared them ‘non-serious’. “It would mean that his other statements were also non-serious”, he maintained, and requested that the privilege motion should thus be sent to the concerned standing committee for further action.
