India will have to be serious in talks to resolve outstanding issues: PM

BAKU (Dunya News) – In a move to contain tensions with India, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Saturday said dialogue is possible with New Delhi only if it shows seriousness in resolving all outstanding issues.
Speaking to reporters in Baku, the Prime Minister emphasized that talks will only be focused on Kashmir dispute as it is core issue between the two countries.
Pakistan offered holding of dialogue on the outstanding issues on several times but India did not reciprocate, he said.
Nawaz Sharif gave these remarks amid strain in ties following the militant attack on Indian army camp in Occupied Kashmir‘s Uri town and India’s ‘false claim‘ of surgical strikes oacross the LoC last month.
He regretted Indian baseless allegations over Uri incident and reiterated that no infiltration took place on Line of Control (LoC).
To a question regarding the government’s plan to raise gas prices from November 1, the Prime Minister assured that gas prices will remain unchanged.
He said the government is also trying its best to provide cheaper electricity to the masses.
Referring to PTI’s October 30th plan, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said some people are trying to shut Pakistan while the PML-N led government is trying to open doors for foreign investors.
Later, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has left Baku for the country after completing a three-day visit to Azerbaijan.
Azerbaijan Deputy Prime Minister Ali Ahmedov saw off the prime minister at the airport.
