Dunya News

Former Punjab CM denied his son being named in the latest version of the Panama Papers

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) leader Chaudhary Parvez Elahi on Tuesday stated that his son, Moonis Elahi, has not been named in the actual list of the second version of the Panama Papers and accused Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif of adding the name of his political adversaries in the list, reported Dunya News.

While addressing a press conference, Parvez Elahi said that the government tried to create confusion overnight by spreading manipulated information through its media cell regarding the revelations made in the latest version of the Panama Papers. He stated that no law that caters the issue exists in the country and inquired that “how shall investigation upon it be carried out?”

He lambasted Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Shehbaz Sharif in regards to loan waiving issues and stated that Shehbaz maintained sound ties with former president and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari to get things done.

Parvez Elahi said that his party stands besides other parties of the opposition regarding investigation of the Panama Leaks. He also congratulated former PM Yousaf Raza Gillani upon the recovery of his son, Ali Haider Gilani, from Afghanistan.
