I don't see any chances of midterm elections or martial law, says PPP stalwart from Lahore

LAHORE: (Dunya News) – Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader of the house in Senate Chaudhry Aitzaz Ahsan has said that Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan will have to give up on the resignation demand. He said that he did not see any chances of midterm elections or martial law in the country and Imran Khan will eventually have to give up on the resignation demand.

Talking to media today (Monday) in Lahore High Court, Aitzaz Ahsan said that Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) is like a guest which keeps coming and going. He said that MQM cannot live without Sindh government.

Aitzaz said that the current political situation has no space for martial law. He said that Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) chief Dr. Tahirul Qadri should now open his eyes to reality. He said that PAT chief kept calling a rally of few thousands as a gathering of millions. “Pakistan Muslim League – Quiad (PML-Q) has no vote-bank of its own and always does the politics of alliances. Government should have been toppled by the end of August according to Dr. Qadri’s claims. Sheikh Rasheed used to predict ‘sacrifice’ before the Eid of Sacrifice. Shahbaz Sharif used to say he would end load shedding within six months. But things do not turn out according to your wishes”, said Aitzaz Ahsan. Responding to a question, Aitzaz said that PPP is not supporting Nawaz Sharif but the democracy.
