Ban Ki-moon expressed concern over the India Pakistan border issue.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News)— Adviser to the Prime Minister on National Security and Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz spoke to UN Secretary Ban Ki-moon on phone to discuss the current situation along the LoC in the wake of continuous ceasefire violations by India.

Reacting strongly to the Indian border aggression, Aziz said that Pakistan has responded to India’s firing with thorough responsibility and is fully determined to impede any further provocation.

Aziz pronounced that India should be advised to refrain from provocative moves and instead adopt a reasonable approach. He also appreciated the efforts of UN Military Observer Group in India and Pakistan (UNMOGIP) saying that its role should be further strengthened to assist more efficient reporting of ceasefire violation.

Ban responded by expressing concern over the India Pakistan border crisis. He said that the two countries should resolve the border tension through a dialogue and work together to ensure lasting peace.
