We will oppose dissolution of KPK Government: Sirajul Haq
It will be a huge loss if democratic process gets derailed because of these protests: JI Head
NOWSHERA: (Dunya News) – Jamaat-i-Islami (JI) Head Sirajul Haq has said that JI will oppose the dissolution of KPK government. While speaking at Eid Milan Party of workers, JI Head said that imposition of Article 245 will prove to be the biggest political blunder of the federal government.
JI Chief advised the federal government to welcome Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI)’s rally in Islamabad instead of trying to stop them.
Former Finance Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhawa (KPK) Maulana Sirajul Haq said that JI will oppose any decision by PTI to dissolve KPK provincial government. He termed PTI’s decision to tender their resignations as their ‘individual decision’, ruling out any possibility of JI following the same path.
“Political parties can never contribute in derailing the democratic process”, said JI Head. “It will be a huge loss if democratic process gets derailed because of these protests”, he added.
Sirajul Haq said that government’s failure should not be equated with the failure of democracy. He said that the government will have to answer why more than a million residents of North Waziristan Agency (NWA) were forced to leave their homes without any planning and consultation.
He urged the government to focus on the return of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) to their homes instead of making new camps for them.
