Sylvester Stallone hopes Bollywood doesn't 'wreck' Rambo

Tiger Shroff is all set to play the iconic John Rambo in the upcoming remake of the 1980s action mov

(Web Desk) – Bollywood’s muscle machine Tiger Shroff is all set to play the iconic John Rambo in the upcoming remake of the 1980s action movie, Rambo. The news has generated a huge amount of excitement and hype on part of Bollywood fans who have expressed their eagerness to see the B-town hunk play the role of the troubled war veteran.

According to a report in the Hindustantimes, Tiger Shroff will play the role of the last surviving member of an elite covert unit of the Indian Armed Forces. Stuck in the jungles and mountains of the Himalayas, the Indian Rambo, much like his predecessor, will unleash terror and mayhem upon his enemies, becoming what he had been trained to be; an irrepressible war fighter.

When it comes to looks, the movie makers have done a commendable job.

The first poster of the much anticipated action remake has been unveiled. Those who found Tiger’s physical appearance scary before are in for a more terrifying image of the actor. The poster shows a terror-inspiring and rugged-looking Tiger Shroff with scars on his chest, and a look on his face that would send his enemies running for cover.

In response to the news about the remake of Rambo, Sylvester Stallone wrote on Instagram, “I read recently they are remaking Rambo in India!! .. Great character..hope they don’t wreck it.” The apprehensions of the Rambo of the past are not unfounded. Maybe Stallone is worried about the Indian Rambo putting his killing tools down for a bit and dancing around in the fields with a lady he has feelings for, a scene typical in Bollywood movies.

Tiger Shroff replied to Stallone, assuring Stallone that he won’t let him down and expressing how humbled he was to play the role.

In an interview to Hindustantimes, Tiger revealed how he had been a huge action movie fan since childhood. The Baaghi actor, who is known for doing all his stunts on his own, said, “Being a martial artist and a huge action movie buff since childhood, this all seems very surreal, and I’m very grateful for this opportunity. By no means do I believe I can replace the legendary Sylvester Stallone; however, I do feel that somehow this is something I’ve been preparing for since childhood.”

Trained in the martial arts, with a physical appearance and facial expression that show his intent to decimate his enemies, Tiger Shroff probably won’t disappoint fans. The film’s director, Siddharth Anand said in an interview, “I cannot wait to work with Tiger on this film. He has that aura about him, a power and vulnerability that will make him the next iconic action hero of our time.”
