The film marks the acting debut of Akshay in the south film industry.

MUMBAI (Daily Dunya) – Bollywood star Akshay Kumar is charging a hefty Rs2 crore per day for his upcoming movie ‘2.0’.

The film marks the acting debut of Akshay in the south film industry opposite the superstar Ranjinikanth. He will be playing the role of Dr. Richard, a mad scientist.

Termed as India’s most expensive film and the second costliest in Asia, ‘2.0’ is made at a whopping budget of about Rs 400 crore using the state-of-the-art technology.

The filmmakers have used 3D cameras for the movie, which is a first in India.

Akshay’s transition for the film is damn scary and the actor is unrecognizable in this mad avatar.

A sequel to the 2010 Tamil sci-fi film Enthiran aka Robot, ‘2.0’ will feature Rajinikanth reprising the roles of Dr. Vaseegaran and Chitti, alongside Akshay Kumar, Amy Jackson, Sudhanshu Pandey and Adil Hussain.

The Zee TV Network has bought the satellite rights of the film’s Tamil, Telugu and Hindi versions for an astronomical price, which is pegged at Rs 110 crore.

The film is slated to release on Diwali this year.
