India retain ICC Test Championship mace, win $1 million

DUBAI (Dunya News) – India have retained International Cricket Council (ICC) Test Championship mace by ensuring top position in ICC Test rankings on the annual April 1 cut-off date and won $1 million.

The number one Test team on Tuesday won Border-Gavaskar series 2-1 after beating Australia in the fourth Test at Dharamsala.
The decision of second spot, which is currently held by Australia, in the rankings will be decided after the result of ongoing third Test match between South Africa and New Zealand.
If South Africa are able to draw or win the match, they will move up to second place, and if New Zealand beat South Africa then Australia will end the year at second position.
It is worth mention here that the side to finish second will get $500,000 and the team finishing third will receive $200,000. England are at fourth-place and will get $100,000.
