Industrial production: 49 industries up, 39 down

The production of 49 major industries in Pakistan declined during the last fiscal year.

According to the Federal Board of Statistics, the production of deep freezer dipped by 57 percent during the fiscal year 2010/11 while the production of air conditioner 27 percent, bicycle 23 percent, diesel engine 50 percent, and buses and trucks shrunk by 22 percent less.In petroleum products, diesel 41 percent, kerosene oil 17 percent and jet fuel was produced 12 percent less than its production in the previous fiscal year.There are 39 industries that made production gains.Sugar production rose by 32 percent in comparison with the previous fiscal year, TV sets 28 percent and motorcycle production surged by 18 percent during the last fiscal year.
