Summary Both sides are moving toward memo to end war

(Web Desk) - US President Donald Trump said he had “very good talks” with Iran, adding that “it’s very possible we’ll make a deal”.

Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesman, Esmaeil Baghaei, said a US proposal to end the war is still “under review”, and Tehran will convey its response to mediator Pakistan after “finalising its views”, according to Iran’s ISNA news agency.

Israel bombed Beirut in an expansion of attacks on Lebanon and in the first strike on the Lebanese capital since a “ceasefire”, in name only, came into force on April 17.

Israeli forces have consistently violated the ceasefire with Lebanon and on Wednesday killed at least 13 people in attacks across the country, including claiming to have targeted a senior Hezbollah commander in a strike on Beirut.

Hamas has condemned Israel’s attacks on Gaza, calling the daily bombings and growing death toll a “blatant violation of the ceasefire agreement” and a continuation of Israel’s “war of extermination” in the Palestinian territory.

Iran is expected to hand over its reply Thursday to mediators about the US proposal to end the war, a regional source told CNN.

Earlier, President Donald Trump said the US has had “very good talks” with Iran over the past 24 hours.

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy said safe passage through the Strait of Hormuz is possible under “new procedures,” Iranian media reported.

The US military also disabled an Iranian-flagged tanker in the Gulf of Oman when it attempted to sail toward an Iranian port.
