MOSCOW (Shahid Ghumman) - Russia’s Defense Ministry has claimed that more than 8,485 Ukrainian troops were killed or wounded between February 7 and 13 during what it calls the ongoing special military operation in Ukraine.

In a weekly statement, the ministry said Russian forces destroyed dozens of tanks, over 100 armored combat vehicles, hundreds of military vehicles, multiple rocket launchers, and several ammunition depots. It also claimed control over four new settlements during the same period.

According to the ministry, Battlegroup North captured Chugunovka in the Kharkov Region and Sidorovka in the Sumy Region. Battlegroup West reportedly took control of Glushkovka in Kharkov, while Battlegroup East announced the capture of Zaliznichnoye in the Zaporozhye Region.

The ministry further stated that Russian battlegroups inflicted significant casualties across multiple frontline sectors, including more than 2,830 in the east and over 1,895 in the central sector. It also claimed German-made Leopard tanks were destroyed during the fighting.

In response to alleged Ukrainian attacks on civilian infrastructure inside Russia, the ministry said Russian forces carried out one massive and six combined strikes using precision-guided weapons and drones. Targets reportedly included defense industries, energy facilities, military airfields, missile depots, and drone production sites.

The statement added that Russian air defenses intercepted several weapons systems during the week, including cruise missiles, guided bombs, HIMARS rockets, Neptune missiles, and more than 1,200 drones.

The Russian Defense Ministry also repeated its broader claims of large-scale Ukrainian military losses since the start of the conflict. These figures could not be independently verified.
