India, Bangladesh celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr today

The moon was sighted in New Delhi on Friday, June 15.

NEW DELHI (Web Desk) – Muslims across the world including India and Bangladesh are celebrating the auspicious festival of Eid.

The moon was sighted in New Delhi on Friday, June 15 after which the locals rush to markets to enjoy the festive. President Ram Nath Kovind and Prime Minister Narendra Modi took to Twitter and greeted the nation on this day.

Earlier, Several countries across the globe including Saudi Arabia celebrated Eid-ul-Fitr on Friday with religious zeal and fervor. 

Eid prayers were offered in Makkah and Madinah which was attended by millions of Muslims. Saudi Arabia’s King Salman bin Abdulaziz has congratulated the citizens of his kingdom and Muslims everywhere on the auspicious occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr.

Besides this, people in the United States, United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman, Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Brunei, Turkey and most parts of South Africa are observing Friday as first day of Eid.

Some parts of North America, Canada and the United Kingdom are also celebrating Eid.
