Arab League suspends Libya from future session

Arab League Secretary General Amr Moussa said on Tuesday that Libya was suspended from future meetings of the organisation until the demands set forth by the Libyan people were met. Germany has also announced to impose sanctions on Libya after this prevailing unrest.

The decision of suspending Libya from Arab League meetings was taken during an emergency meeting convened in Cairo to discuss the Libyan revolt against Muammar Gaddafi. On the other side France sent three air force planes to the Libyan capital Tripoli to evacuate its nationals from the country but they were not allowed to land in Triploi and diverted to Malta.German Chancellor Angela Merkel described Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafis speech as very, very frightening and said he had virtually declared war on his own people. Merkel told a news conference that if Gaddafi did not stop the violence she would support eventual sanctions against Libya. While, the White House says that it is nation’s responsibility to resolve the crisis in Libya.
