The female staff of the company has appreciated the human resources (HR) department for new policy
WEB DESK (Dunya News) - In its grounbreaking step, a Mumbai based firm Culture Machine has decided to implement its first day of period leave policy as it will become effective from the month of July.
The female staff of the company has appreciated the human resources (HR) department for introducing the new policy.
Apart from the first of kind implementation, the company has also circulatted a petition adressed to the Ministry of Human Resource Development and Ministry of Women and Child Development for applying this policy across India.
The organisation also released a video that showed its female staff revealing their experience about their first day of their period and also their reactions to the first day of period leave policy.
President of human resource at Culture Machine Devleena S Majumder expressed, "First day is obviously a not-so-comfortable day for most. It’s time we face the reality. This is not an embarrassment. This is part of life."
It is worth mentioning here that the maternity leave bill has been passed by the Paliament in March this year and which will grant 26 weeks of paid leave instead of just 12 weeks and with now a firm offering first day of period leave , things are likely to change more in favor of the female staff in the working culture.
