Indian troops martyr three Kashmiri youth in Kupwara district
Thousands of people raising pro-Pakistan, pro-freedom and anti-India slogans are attending rallies.
SRINAGAR (Web Desk / AFP) - In occupied Kashmir, Indian troops in their stepped-up state terrorism martyred three youth in Tangdhar area Kupwara district on Sunday, raising the death toll to 86.
The Indian army has claimed that the youth were killed during an encounter in the area. The troops have cordoned off Tangdhar and have launched an operation in the area.
No further details are available as mobile and Internet services are almost in suspension for the past 44 days in the territory.
Thousands of people raising pro-Pakistan, pro-freedom and anti-India slogans are attending protest rallies in Pulwama, Shopian, Islamabad and other districts of the territory.
People from several villages of Pulwama have assembled in Parigam area of the district to participate in pro-freedom rally. The participants are on trucks, buses, cars and are on foot to join the rally. High-pitched slogans in favor of freedom are being raised, while green flags are being hoisted.
Similar rallies are underway in Mool, Chitragam area of Shopian and in Daligam area of Islamabad districts. Enthusiastic participants are raising anti-India and pro-freedom slogans in the rallies.
Meanwhile, the authorities sealed all entry and exit points leading to city centre Lal Chowk today to ensure strict curfew.
Commuters were not allowed to cross the barricades at these points.
People were being barred to get lifesaving medicines and were unable to visit hospitals to attend to their patients.
The supplies of milk, baby food and vegetables were also facing shortage in Srinagar and other areas of the territory due to curfew.
The occupied territory is on the boil since the extra-judicial murder of the top commander of Hizbul Mujahideen, Burhan Wani, by Indian troops on July 8.

It is being termed as the worst violence to hit the Himalayan region since 2010.
Kashmir is split between India and Pakistan along a UN-monitored line of control, but both claim it in full and have fought two wars over its control.
Freedom fighters have fought Indian security forces in Kashmir since 1989 for the independence of the region or for it to be made part of Pakistan.
The conflict has left tens of thousands, mostly civilians, dead.
