'Dead woman' gets out of her coffin after two days at funeral

BABAHOYO (Web Desk) – A woman, after spending two days in her coffin, had to try hard to convince the people that she was still alive as the government is now investigating to matter to determine how and why it did happen.
It was in Babahoyo – a city in central Ecuador – where people at a funeral, instead of reflecting pain and mourning, were suddenly first shocked and then brought joy.
According to details, family members and friends had gathered to say goodbye to Gilberto Barbera Montoya, a 76-year-old former nurse, but suddenly they realised that there was something wrong as Montoya had started to seek help by knocking her coffin.
Her son Gilberto Barbera said the incident had frightened them. "There were about 20 of us there.... After about five hours of the wake, the coffin started to make sounds.”
"My mum was wrapped in sheets and hitting the coffin, and when we approached we could see that she was breathing heavily," he said, “They even gave us a death certificate.”
Meanwhile, the elderly woman is now being treated at the same state hospital that declared her dead while the government has launched a probe into the hospital where Montoya was treated.
