(Web Desk) - A diamond ring that was accidentally flushed down the toilet of a home in Florida, was returned to its owners 21 years later after being discovered lodged inside the commode.
When the ring went down the toilet at Nick’s parents’ house 21 years ago, Nick and Shaina claimed they were not yet married.
“‘I think I lost my ring,’ she said one day to me. ‘It was on the counter now it’s gone, and I think I may have flushed it down the toilet by accident,’ she explained “WFLA-Nick TV’s Day confirmed this.
Shaina stated that she had been cleaning around the sink.
“I was using toilet paper to clean the water off the counter. My engagement ring was on the counter. I must have accidentally grabbed my ring and tossed the tp. It was one of the dumbest things I’d ever done “She posted it on Facebook.
The couple stated that they went to great lengths to locate the lost ring.
“I descended into the septic tank so we could try to find it by pumping everything through a strainer. No such luck, “said Shaina Day.
Last month, a plumber was replacing their toilet when he discovered the ring lodged inside.
On Christmas Day, the ring was returned to the couple.
“This was brought out. It was wrapped in a small Christmas bag, so when we opened it, we both knew exactly what it was “Nick remembered.
The couple stated that the experience taught them a valuable lesson.
“When you lose things, check your toilets,” Nick advised.
