Recently, a seal adoption activity was launched in the East-Fort scenic area of Yantai, in Shandong Province. Yantai citizens can visit, feed, and enjoy playing with the seals.

At the Seal Bay in the scenic area, visitors are having a close contact with the seals. A boy named two seals he adopted Tuantuan and Yuanyuan because they are very plump and cute. A grandmother applied for an adoption card for her grandchild because the little girl loves seals very much.These border policemen, who participated in rescuing the seals not long ago, are old friends of these seals. They are going to adopt a seal too.This seal is called Guaiguai. Last year, it escaped from the Seal Bay. We made great efforts to take it back. Now, we feel so happy to see it growing well, so we want to adopt this one, said a border policeman.Last winter, the Seal Bay suffered a rarely seen freezing period, during which the seals were all sick. To take a better care of these recovered seals, the scenic area administration holds this seal adoption activity to make more people know and protect the animals. At present, 30 out of the 47 seals have been adopted. Adopters can visit them at any time.
