(Web Desk) - Adobe is set to enhance its Acrobat PDF management software with a groundbreaking generative AI feature, aiming to revolutionize the digital document experience.

Branded as "AI Assistant in Acrobat" in Adobe's official announcement, this innovative tool is labeled a "conversational engine." It boasts the capability to summarize files, address queries, and provide content-based recommendations.

Users can now effortlessly engage in a conversation with their documents to extract the information they need. The primary objective is to streamline the handling of extensive text documents, offering a solution to time-consuming tasks.

This includes aiding students in swiftly locating information for research projects and condensing large reports into concise highlights for emails, meetings, and presentations.

AI Assistant in Acrobat supports all document formats within the app, encompassing Word and PowerPoint. Crucially, the chatbot adheres to Adobe's stringent data security protocols, ensuring it does not store customer document data or utilize it for AI training.

AI Assistant Debuts in Adobe Acrobat, Offering Dynamic Document Interaction management software, promising to revolutionize the way users engage with digital documents.

At launch, the AI Assistant can analyze document content, suggest questions for exploration, and provide answers, accompanied by generated citations for source verification.

Additionally, it creates clickable links that direct users to specific information within lengthy documents. Acrobat users can leverage the chatbot to compile and format information for various purposes, including emails, reports, and presentations.

The beta version is now accessible to paid Acrobat users. This new AI Assistant experience is accessible to Acrobat customers on Standard ($12.99 per month), Pro ($19.99 per month), and Teams subscription plans, both on desktop and web platforms.

While in beta, Adobe offers this feature to customers at no extra cost. Once out of beta, Reader and Acrobat users will have access to the full range of AI Assistant capabilities through a new add-on subscription plan, according to Abhigyan Modi, senior vice president for Adobe Document Cloud.

Although Adobe hasn't disclosed the beta duration, the company has outlined future capabilities in its roadmap. These include integration with the Firefly generative AI model, the capacity to extract information from multiple documents and sources simultaneously, and features for generating initial drafts and editing copy.
