'‘Tasdeeq' - Nadra launches new verification system for senior citizens
LAHORE (Web Desk) – The National Database Registration Authority (Nadra) launched a new verification service, Tasdeeq, for the citizens especially seniors whose fingerprints are unreadable by system.
Nadra chairman Tariq Malik announced the development on Twitter, stating that the system had been launched with “whole-of-society” approach. He said it would address the issues being faced by the senior citizens at banks due to non-verification of fingerprints.
In case of non-authentication of biometric of citizens aged above 60 years in banks, the Nadra system will ask randomly generated personal questions for verification. It will send confirmation message to the bank officer upon receiving the correct answers.
The inauguration event was attended by prominent literary personalities, including Anwar Masood, Professor Fateh Muhammad Malik, Kishwar Naheed and Iftikhar Arif.
The Nadra chief thanked the banks for deploying the new system after extensive testing. “Financial institutions waiting on the fence should join to scale it up for public convenience,” he wrote on Twitter.
