WhatsApp to roll out 'share all file types' feature soon: reports
The instant messaging giant will update this feature to all active iOS, Android and Windows devices
(Web Desk) – WhatsApp is all set to launch its latest update which will have a feature of ‘share all file types’ for smartphone users. Reports told the tech giant is testing the upgrade and it will be in the hands of all the users, including Android, iOS and Windows phones.
The instant messaging giant is currently test running this latest upgrade and has given a beta version to a fixed number of its users. However, people will be restricted to a certain file size. This will not allow them to share files that exceed their set limit. Reports say the file size limit will be the same as existing. The ability to share all file types will prove to be a great advantage.
According to the rumours, the maximum file size limit will remain 100MB for Android devices and 128MB for iOS devices. People using WhatsApp on their smartphones will now be able to share all kinds of files, including photos, videos, documents, and others. File sharing feature is already available on WhatsApp and WhatsApp Web, but it supports fewer file types.
Support for file types like doc, docx, pdf, rtf, ppt, pptx, txt, xls and xlsx will be further improved by the app. The Facebook-owned tech giant is also planning on launching mobile payment solutions.
