LAHORE (Web Desk) – There are a lot of opinions by aviation experts relating to the question whether any seat on an airplane is safe or not. While some say that no seat is safe when it comes to the deadly crashes, there are many who refer any seat being as safe as the other because the modern era flights are well protected. However, a study reveals that people seated in the rear cabin are comparatively safer.
A study conducted by an online website examined all plane crashes in the United States since 1971. It accounted all the survivors as well as victims throughout these tragedies. The crash investigators studied seating arrangements in all commercial aircrafts so as to reach a conclusion of the safest seat in the plane.
There are mainly four sections in an aircraft. The analytical study suggested that it’s comparatively safer in the back section. These studies concluded that survivor rate of the people sitting in seats situated in the back side of the plane was more than that of those situated in the front side.
By back side of the airplane, it refers to the seats located behind the wing ends and in the rear portion of the plane which are generally closer to the bathrooms and air hostess cabins. However, the safeness of a seat is correlated with the fatality of an air crash.
Recently, the crash of Pakistan International Airlines’ (PIA) flight PK-661 led to deaths of all 48 onboard. The plane was headed towards Islamabad from Chitral and had lost communicated in midair.
