Chinese bloggers blast Japan election result
The LDP swept to victory, giving Abe what is almost certain to be a 2nd shot at running the country.
BEIJING: Japanese bloggers have reacted with scorn to the election victory of Japan's conservative Liberal Democratic Party (LDP).
Many are concentrating their fire on prospective Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, widely known for his hardline China views. The LDP swept to victory Sunday, giving Abe what is almost certain to be a second shot at running the country.
On Monday, Chinese micro-blog sites were full of anti-Abe comments, with some calling for a boycott of Chinese goods after Abe was reported in postelection comments to have called for a tougher line over a series of Japanese controlled islets that are disputed between the sides.
Known as Senkaku in Japanese and Diaoyu in Chinese, the islets burst into the headlines in April after the governor of Tokyo said he wanted to buy them outright.
