Origone wins Speed Skiing World Championships

Defeating his brother Ivan, Italian skier Simone Origone won the Speed Skiing World Championships.

The four-time champion Italian skier made the distance with the speed of 211.67 kilometres at the last stage of the championship in Verbier, Switzerland, to claim the honour once again. This time Origone was challenged by his own brother Ivan, who came second as Italy won the top two positions in the competition. Origone is the world record holder of the fastest speed in skiing, 251.4 kilometres per hour, which he made in 2006 in Les Arcs, France.French skier Bastien shared the podium with Italian brothers by finishing third.
