Shaun Tait retires from ODIs

Shaun Tait has announced his retirement from the 50 over cricket to prolong his T20 career.

The 28-year-old, Tait, announced his decision Monday, saying the toll of playing both limited over forms placed too much strain on his body and he didnt want to be forced into retirement by injury.Tait played 35 one day internationals for Australia, taking 62 wickets at an average of 23.56.He said concentrating on Twenty20 cricket allowed him to manage his body to a level where he could continue playing cricket for some time yet.He took 11 wickets in seven matches before Australias quarterfinal exit in the current World Cup.He said that he wanted to finish his career to help his side once again in lifting the World Cup but, unfortunately, it could not happen.Tait said Australias 2007 World Cup victory was the stand-out memory of his career.
