PTI decides to 'cleanse' sports bodies of political recruitments
Sources say the PML-N government compromised merit by bringing in Khokhar at the helm of PHF.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Acting on its election pledge, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party has decided to put to end the practice of political recruitments in sports bodies.
According to sources, Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) President Khalid Sajjad Khokhar would be removed from his his post as he was appointed on political grounds.
Sources say the previous PML-N government compromised merit by bringing in Khokhar at the helm of PHF due to him being the relative of a prominent N-league member.
Imran Khan, who championed PTI’s anti-corruption campaign, pledged to end the practice of nepotism, favouritism misuse of power in a wide-ranging address to the nation following his party’s victory in election.
