Star India opener Gautam Gambhir emerged No 1 Test batsman again after Kumar Sangakkara and Michael Clarke slipped down the rankings following not-too-good showing in recent matches while Pakistans Muhammad Yousaf stayed put at No 4. Sri Lankas Sangakkara was at No 2, West Indies Chanderpaul at No 3, Pakistans Muhammad Yousaf at No 4, Australias Clarke at No 5 and Captain Younis Khan was at No 6 at ICC Players Rankings for Test batsmen issued in Dubai. While Mahela Jayawardene was at No 7, South Africas Smith at No 8, Ponting at No 9 and Jacques Kallis was at No 10. The bowling list is still headed by South Africa's Dale Steyn with Muttiah Muralitharan of Sri Lanka second and Australia's Mitchell Johnson hanging on to third. Harbhajan Singh (5th) and Zaheer Khan (8th) are the two Indian bowlers in the top 10 chart. For the Ashes-winning England side, off-spinner Graeme Swann jumped 17 places and into the top 10 in the ICC Player Rankings for Test bowlers for the first time in his career.
