Iglinsky of Kazakhstan wins Liege-Bastogne-Liege classic

Kazakh Maxim Iglinskiy took a solo victory in the Liege-Bastogne-Liege Classic.

Liege-Bastogne-Liege Classic is one of the cyclings top five races.Second behind the Astana rider was Vincenzo Nibali of Italy, while Enrico Gasparotto of Italy was third.Iglinsky finished the 257.5 kilometre race in 6 hours 42 minutes 30 seconds.For much of the race the eventual winners stayed in the peloton and there was a bunch of six riders at the front, including best climber Simon Geschke of Argos and Germany, but he fell on a bend and dropped back.Three riders then joined the leading group, but with 33.4 kms it thinned out.The chasers caught the last of the group, Frenchman Pierre Rolland of Europcar, with 19.8 kilometres left and soon afterwards Nibali broke away.At one point the Italian had a lead of more than 20 seconds, but Iglinsky showed great strength to pass him with a kilometre to go.Liege-Bastogne-Liege concludes cyclings Spring season of Classics.
