RAWALPINDI (Dunya News) – Pakistan’s military leadership is set to gather at General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi on Saturday morning for a high-profile ceremony commemorating one year since the victory of “Maarka-e-Haq”, or the “Battle of Truth”.

The event will begin at 8:40am and will be attended by the country’s top armed forces commanders in a display of military unity and tribute to fallen soldiers.

The ceremony’s chief guest will be Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir. Chief of Air Staff Air Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Babar Sidhu and Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf are also scheduled to participate in the proceedings alongside senior military officials.

According to details released ahead of the event, the three service chiefs will lay floral wreaths at the Yadgar-e-Shuhada memorial to honour martyrs who sacrificed their lives in defence of the country. Smartly turned-out contingents from all three branches of the armed forces will present a formal salute during the ceremony.

Field Marshal Asim Munir is also expected to address the gathering, with the event being viewed as a symbolic reaffirmation of Pakistan’s military resolve and operational readiness. Officials described Yaum-e-Maarka-e-Haq as a reminder that any act of aggression against the country would receive a “strong and decisive response”.

The commemorative ceremony at GHQ comes amid continued emphasis by Pakistan’s military leadership on national defence, inter-services coordination and tribute to personnel who lost their lives while serving the country. The participation of the army, navy and air force chiefs will underline the message of institutional unity and collective preparedness.

Security arrangements around the GHQ area will also remain heightened during the ceremony, with military and law enforcement authorities overseeing proceedings for the high-profile event in Rawalpindi.
