Security forces continue search operation,5 suspects arrested

The security forces have been continuing their search operation in parts of Swat and Malakand and during the last 24 hours they rounded up four suspects besides recovering arms and ammunition. According to an update issued by ISPR here Monday, security forces conducted search operation near Matta and Shahdono Sar. Five major villages were searched besides clearing small hamlets. Security forces carried out search operation at village Kandla in Utror valley near Kalam from where two terrorists were apprehended and recovered two machine guns including ammunition.In search operation at village Mankial, the local Jirga handed over a suspected terrorist namely Iqbal to security forces.Security forces carried out search operation at Tangbanr, Giga and recovered ONE machine gun, three pistols and one rifle including ammunition.During search operation in Kalagai- District Shangla the security forces apprehended a known terrorist Khanzada from his house.Security forces conducted search operation at Bashkhela near Matta, destroyed 2 tunnels, 5 IEDs and recovered 2 machine guns.As part of relief activities 128,687 cash cards have been distributed amongst the IDPs of Malakand.Meanwhile, return of IDPs of Malakand have commenced smoothly according to an envisaged programme by provincial government in coordination with Special Support Group. The in-camps and off camps IDPs today were escorted by security forces to Barikot, Landakai, Kota and Guratai in Swat.
