ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian will spend a busy day in Pakistan on Sunday (today) as he will hold several engagements in Islamabad.
President Pezeshkian has arrived in Pakistan on a two-day official visit, with a full schedule of high-level engagements set to begin today, according to diplomatic sources.
A state dinner will be hosted in honour of President Pezeshkian and his delegation in Islamabad.
Official meetings will commence with a meeting between the Iranian president and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. Delegation-level talks between the two countries are also scheduled to take place.
Diplomatic sources confirm that a number of bilateral agreements and Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) are expected to be signed during the visit.
President Pezeshkian will also meet Senate Chairman Yousuf Raza Gilani and National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq.

A luncheon is scheduled in his honour, followed by a formal meeting with President Asif Ali Zardari, who is also expected to host a dinner for the visiting dignitary.
The Iranian president is also likely to hold meetings with Pakistan's military leadership. He is expected to express gratitude to Pakistan for its support during the recent Iran-Israel conflict.
Notably, during the war, President Pezeshkian thanked Pakistan in a session of the Iranian Parliament, where slogans of "Thanks to Pakistan" were raised.
According to diplomatic sources, the meetings will focus on strengthening Pakistan-Iran relations, enhancing regional connectivity, cooperation in energy and trade, and improving border management and pilgrim facilitation.
