BEIJING (Web Desk) - Pakistan and China have reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening bilateral relations.

The commitment was made during a meeting between Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal and Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Sun Weidong in Beijing on Saturday.

Ahsan Iqbal appreciated China's unwavering support for Pakistan during recent tension with India. He also praised China's leadership for playing a constructive role in global peace.

The minister said that Pakistan-China friendship continues to grow stronger with every passing day.

He said that China's development model remains a source of inspiration for Pakistan.

Vice Foreign Minister Sun Weidong reaffirmed China's strong commitment to enhancing cooperation with Pakistan across various sectors.

During the meeting, both sides discussed matters of mutual interest with a particular focus on the second phase of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor.

Earlier, Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir has said that the Pakistan-China strategic relationship exemplifies mutual trust, unwavering support, and shared commitment.

He was addressing an event organised to commemorate the 98th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) of China at GHQ.

The army chief extended a warm welcome to the Chinese guests and congratulated the PLA on its 98th founding anniversary. He lauded the PLA’s pivotal role in China’s defence, security, and nation-building.
